You may have heard the possible false Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times." Well, I have been dealing with an interesting problem in regards to network/internet connectivity. It gets so much better though. I am having no problems with the Windows machines, only the Linux machines. It gets better though. We have had flaky issues with the wireless connection as well, so troubleshooting has been interesting. After all is said and done, it looks like the culprit of all our woes is not the wireless, nor the Linux machines. Nope, my old prejudices regarding Firefox seems to be well founded. Proof? Sure, I have two Linux machines with different browsers installed along side of Firfox and they work. I had to FTP the files to install SeaMonkey as FTP worked and the browser didn't. Quality product there for ya...stupid Firefox.
And uh, Innocence is eating a fortune cookie, and that ties everything together. May you live in mundane times.
I love my job. My job loves me. But being the only web person at a growing company gets hard. I do internet, intranet, as well as the newsletters. In short, I do everything webby. I have a small web site that is due Tuesday morning for my bosses presentation and I am still getting updates and corrections. Top it all off with Ninja and his interesting problem, and you get Nitui unable to work from home. He did it on purpose to make sure that the priority was the webcomic. So, here I am at 8:42 and just now starting to work on WORK stuff. They better appreciate me at work.
I also wanted to mention that we are having wood flooring installed in a few weeks. Ninja insisted that it might help with my allergies. Let's hope he is right.
Lastly, the chemo kills my immune system and I am sick once again. I must be living in interesting times.
See you next week.
