News for December 10th, 2007
Are you trying to tell me that you have never heard of somebody growing out of childhood allergies? Well, now you have.
In other news, I did pass my certification test and it was slightly harder then KRO-GARs. All I really wanted to do was demonstrate to people, via certification, that I did in fact know what I was doing. Maybe it will get me a huge raise!
Well, off to go exploring through time!
I've seen a whole slew of movies lately and I thought I'd give you a rundown. While Ninja's mom was here we saw Enchanted and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. I really really wanted to like Enchanted but, I couldn't. It was just too over the top cheesy. I think this would have been a much better film if they would have toned it down a bit. Meanwhile, Magoriums was panned by pretty much every critic I read but, I enjoyed it. Mind you it's no Willy Wonka but it's also no Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. On DVD I saw Waitress, Ratatouille, Lady in the Water, and Hairspray. Waitress I mostly watched to see if I'd like Nathan Fillion in a non-Serenity role. I did, but the film is kinda slow and brainless. If you want a movie that you won't have to think about and you like pie this is one for you - other wise skip it. Ratatouille was well...a Pixar. I was worried about this one after Cars but it seems they've regain their former cuteness. If you haven't seen this one check it out. Lady in the water unlike Magoriums is just what the reviewers say it is - terrible. It's by far the worst of M. Night Shyamalan's films. (of which in general I enjoy) This just felt like a bad film class project. He got alot of grief about acting in this one and I though he did a fine job just leave the writing to someone else. Lastly Hairspray - in general I try to support any theatre they want to turn into movies but sadly I'm glad I never saw this one on stage if this is what it's like. I just didn't care about any of the characters.
So, long story short after a long slump of nothing to see it seems we finally have - well very little to see. I'm bummed that so many of these turned out to be duds. I'm hoping for better in the up and coming films - The Golden Compass, I Am Legend, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Water Horse, Sweeney Todd, P.S. I Love You, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem and Charlie Wilson's War.
