News for February 5th, 2007

Benefits.  My company used to have benefits.  They give us stock options and stuff, but like so many other companies, insurance is going away.  A new very high deductible, coupled with only covering 80% until a second threshold is hit, is making it very difficult on the employees.  Fortunately, Nitui works for a company with better insurance.  It won't be too bad for us, until her company goes that way too.  I was told, in the next 3 to 5 years, every company will be going this route.  The theory is to make employees more responsible for how often they see doctors and to take better care of themselves.  What it really does, is take a group of people and force them to not go to the doctor.  Since they can't get cheap medical anymore, they will come to work sick more often.  They also won't get better and that means more sick people spreading it longer at work.  Oh well, guess that's progress.

In other news, work has been painful.  We rolled out a new set of promotions at work.  We do this every year.  But it gets worse each time.  Like a idiot stuntman that survives jumping 18 buses with only broken arms and a fractured back.  Instead of learning from it, he decides to add another degree of difficulty.  Add flames, oh and snakes!  Then we barely survive the next year again.

No time for movies again this week.  Back to work.

Tired..it's midnight and I have work tomorrow. More later...

Oh yeah! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!
